School of Engineering

Engineering courses are closed to non-Engineering students except with the special permission of the department offering the course. Engineering courses open to non-Engineering students are indicated in the detail section of class search in Enroll and Pay.

Students found enrolled in Engineering courses without proper authorization may be administratively disenrolled from those courses.

Undergraduate
All EECS undergraduate courses, with the exception of EECS 128, EECS 138, and EECS 603, are open only to students who have been formally admitted to the School of Engineering. Students who have met stated prerequisites and have an approved petition may attempt to enroll in a specific course. Students whose major requires a specific EECS course must obtain permission before attempting to enroll in a specific course.

Course prerequisites must be completed before enrolling in a course. Students are first notified and then administratively dropped from courses for which they do not meet prerequisites or have prior written approval from the department.

Graduate
Enrollment in graduate-level courses 800 and above requires admission to an EECS graduate degree program or prior written approval from the department.
